Why choose SIGG?

Save waste by not throwing out plastic water bottles and save wasted resources from transporting water around the world in bottles.

The SIGG BPA-free lining is independently tested. Taste neutral, so whatever you put in your SIGG water bottle is all you taste. Features of the SIGG:

  • The bottle body is extruded from a single piece of pure aluminium, no seams.  100% recyclable.
  • Highest stability with lowest weight
  • Leak proof tops - SIGG is one of the only bottles on the market with guaranteed leak proof sports/sipper tops.
  • Rich colors achieved with a solvent-free coating powder
  • The lining is resistant to fruit acids and isotonic drinks according to an independent testing institute (Nehring, Germany)

SIGG has been made in Switzerland since 1908. For more information about how SIGG bottles are made and what's inside see this official SIGG fact sheet.

SIGG sponsor hans kammerlander

True to its Swiss alps heritage, SIGG is a sponsor of mountaineer Hans Kammerlander who in January 2012 became the first person to climb the "Second 7 Summits" - the second highest peak on each continent, which are notoriously more severe than some of the highest peaks.

SIGG bottles have been appreciated for over 100 years by hikers and mountain climbers due to their outstanding quality, light weight and functionality.

While a SIGG bottle may dent, the internal lining is guaranteed to be elastic and unbreakable - and will not peel off, even if dented on the outside.

How to clean your SIGG bottle

Wash your bottles with warm, soapy water at the end of every day - and the most important tip is to always let the bottle air dry with the top off.  This will stop the bottle accumulating mould and bacteria that is more likely to form in a constantly wet environment.  An eco friendly mild dishwashing detergent is recommended.

Should any mineral deposits or lime scale form inside, fill your clean bottle with Distilled White Vinegar (no other kind) and let soak for 24 hours. Then rinse the bottle with warm water and one tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda and let dry.   Spots inside that look like "corrosion" are most likely a mineral deposit.
