Kate Knapp, a local Brisbane artist, designs wonderfully whimsical art for greeting cards, called Twigseeds. You can check out some of her unique earth-friendly greeting cards at Biome Eco Stores.
Biome love getting to know the people behind the products they stock, and back in April 2012, interviewed Kate Knapp. Her beautiful answers provoke similar emotions as her work (so touching). Get to know Kate Knapp here.
Earth Greetings are dedicated to sustainable design. Their paper goods are printed carbon neutral in Australia, with vegetable based inks on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. They also use a local screen printer who prints on a small scale on 100% post-consumer waste board.
They also measure, seek to reduce and offset their carbon emissions through Carbon Neutral. This includes manufacture of printed goods, office energy use and waste. Read more about Earth Greetings environmental management policy here.
Renee Treml creates stunning illustrations using inks and clay board in her studio in Melbourne, Australia. Each stunning illustration of Australian wildlife combines fine detail with personality and an environmental message about habitat loss and relocation. By placing native wildlife in unlikely situations (such as koalas napping in tea cups) it raises the question, where will our wildlife go when there are no more trees?
Renee's note cards are carbon-neutral, made on 100% post-consumer recycled paper using vegetable based inks.
These note cards, along with other recycled cards are available at Biome.
